Quick Bites in Amsterdam

Where to find local fast food and picnic fixings in Amsterdam

Amsterdam's traditional snack consists of small sandwiches called broodjes, available everywhere but best at the specialty broodjeswinkel Eetsalon Van Dobben, at Korte Reguliersdwarsstraat 5-9 (off Rembrandtsplein), or Broodje van Kootje, on the Leidseplein.

For the unusual, try seafood on the go, fresh from the counter of Vishandel de Kreft at Vijzelstraat 3, near the Muntplein.

You can buy ultra-fresh picnic supplies at the market on Albert Cuypstraat, at the health-foody Boerenmarkt Farmer's Market at Noodermarkt, or in Albert Heijn supermarkets (there's one at the corner of Leidstraat and Koningsplein).
