Refined Bavarian cuisine in Munich

Blütwort at Halali Restaurant, Munich
Who says blood sausage can't be fancy?
Halali is refined, but very Bavarian: Picture an elegant candlelit dining room, then throw in a few dozen trophy antlers. That's "reinfed Bavarian."

The kitchen takes Bavarian staples—homemade fresh blütwurst, venison, lamb, smoked eel—and treats them with a delicate touch, filling them with flavor and presenting them attractively.

My advice? Splurge €65 on one of several four-course tasting menus—an exercise in Bavarian gourmet.

The genteel edge here ensures that red wine, not beer, is the preferred beverage choice.
