Accommodations in Munich, Germany

Don't just look at hotels. Most other lodging options are more interesting—and nearly always cheaper.

Small, family-run B&Bs can be way friendlier than hotels and usual run €40–€80 for two people.

Rental apartments offer a greater degree of independence—and often much more space, including a working kitchen—for an avergae of €40 to €90 per night.

Hostels are considerbaly cheaper for solo travelers, and offer a communal atmosphere (and, these days, far cozier rooms than the dorm-like "youth hostels" of yore), and charge just €16–€28 per person.
