An amazingly cheap, amazingly central hostel in the heart of Temple Bar above the most music-loving pub in Dublin

Gogarty's touts itself as being the only hostel in Ireland that has a pub as part of the complex—among the most popular pubs in Dublin, no less, famous for its non-stop live Irish traditional music daily from 2:30pm to 2:30am (and for the throngs of tourists who flock here to hear it, and to partake in the nightly pub crawl that departs from the second floor bar).

Yes, this is as touristy as a pub gets in all of Ireland—not that it isn't great fun, just that the only Dubs you'll see here are working here—and, yes, the guest quarters consts mostly of shared dorm rooms with metal bunkbeds and baths down the hall—though there are also a few private rooms starting at €38 (for a private shower: €44).

Prices in the shared dorms are even cheaper, depending on how many beds per room: four beds (€16), six beds (€14), or ten beds (€12).

What's more, all of those rates include a continental breakfast, which is a pretty excellent deal. There's no curfew, WiFi is free, and there's a full kitchen, TV room, luggage storage, and 24-hour reception.

With any booking, you also get: a free pint, free traditional Irish music CD, free "Evening at Gogartys" DVD, and free entrance to Club M nightclub (on the weekends only).

Gogartys also rents six penthouse apartments (1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom) with living room, dining room, and full kitchen starting at €99.

Keep in mind, though, this is not an ideal place for light sleepers. The pub keeps the music going until 2:30am every single night, so unless you're going to be partying downstairs (or elsewhere) along with the punters, you might want to find someplace quieter to get some sleep.
