Shady Creek is a pocket of monsoon forest in Litchfield National Park. On just this short (and far more interesting back-way) trail between Florence Falls and the parking lot, you experience both this lush, tropical, palm- and fern-filled side of the Top End and its desert/Outback side full of spare euclalypts and spear grass. Over just a few hundreds feet, temperatures go from 27 Celcius and 72% humidity in the monsoon forest to 23 Celcius and 50% humidity in the woodlands. (Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory, Australia.)
