This stylish Catalan restaurant overlooks the beach in Barceloneta

This trendy Barceloneta joint, with an airy living-room style indoors and beach-view outdoors dining, is Catalan through and through.

You find arròs negre (paella made with squid ink), entrecot al roquefort (steak with cheese), and paperina de verdures (thinly sliced zucchini, onions, and other vegetables lightly fried and served in a paper cone).

One of the most original and hip of the myriad choices along the seafront. Enter from the promenade above, but choose either terrace seating with a view or indoors, set off with excellent contemporary art.

Signature dishes feature rice with seafood.

Reservations are a must.
