Airfares to Italy from Europe
How to fly to Italy from the UK or elsewhere in Europe
Really this can be summed up in two words: no-frills airlines.
Italy is very well linked within the low-cost airline networks of Europe, allowing you to fly direct from major European cities into the oddest, out-of-the-way Italian places.
Use an aggregator
Research airfares not at the typical booking engines (Orbitz.com, Expedia.com
, Travelocity.com
), but rather via an airfare aggregator:
Airfare aggregators, or meta-search engines, not only search the big booking engines and the airlines directly, but also canvas various online discounters and travel agencies.
Also, unlike the major search engines, aggregators include most of the smaller, low-cost airlines the booking engines overlook—why, Momondo even includes train options.
Try packages
Also look into cost-saving vacation packages (airfares and hotels bundled together) from the likes of Low Cost Holidays (www.lowcostholidays.com).
