Gallagher's Boxty House

Hearty, savory pancakes and other traditional Irish fare in Dublin's Temple Bar

Friendly, homey—and, yes, touristy—Gallagher's is a fixture both of Temple Bar and of traditional Irish cooking. Its specialties are the grilled potato pancakes called boxty, rolled around fillings of beef, lamb, chicken, or fish.

Their open-faced lunchtime sandwiches are excellent, as is their salmon. The clientele is a mix of tourists seeking real Irish cooking and locals doing the same, trying to recapture that old "dinner at Grandma's" feeling.
