A pizza at Corte degli Sfizi, a restaurant in Agrigento.
For lunch, I'd take a picnic into the temple area (see "Tips" below). Otherwise—and for dinner—here are my top choices:
Agrigento Tourist Information:
Via C. Battisti 15 (first left off Via Atenea, just behind Piazzale A. Moro), Agrigento
tel. +39-0922-20-454)
Another information office:
Via Empedocle 73
tel. +39-0922-20-391

I don't know if this is strictly legal, but there are plenty of nice hidden nooks where you can picnic at in the archaeological park. Besides, you'll be spending all day down here, so you might as well bring a bag lunch—especially as the only sandwich bar down at the site is the sort of place that charges $5 for a Coke.
For picnic supplies, hit the small minimarket at the very beginning of Via Atenea or the string of alimentari, pasticcerie, and fruit shops along the parallel Via Pirandello. For outstanding local pastries, pop into Infurna (tel. +39-0922-595-959) at Via Atenea 96.
The local, honey-colored wine that most restaurants in town serve sort of tastes like it might be next week's local, honey-colored vinegar, but it goes well enough with food
