Olympic Tickets: What Events Can I Still Get Tickets To?

As I keep mentioning—lest anyone get the misguided impression they can witness the next Sarah Hughes or Michelle Kwan land that triple axel—tickets for ever-popular women's figure skating are long gone.

BUT THE GOOD NEWS is that you can still watch the men or the pairs competition, starting at $286. You can also still get into the ice dancing competition ($462) as well as the figure skating gala exhibition, which takes place after the medals pressure is over and the skaters are a bit more relaxed (though that'll run you a cool $588).

And that's just figure skating. You can get tickets for just about every other Olympic sport—not necessarily the exciting final rounds, where medals are decided, but at least a qualifying heat or preliminary match.

When I last checked (Nov 4), there were still tickets to be had for all sessions of Alpine skiing at $185 a pop, almost all heats in the biathlon (starting at $42), and most variations on those blink-and-you'll-miss-it bobsleigh runs (from $59). You could see the aerial acrobatics of ski jumping for $185, clock the speed skaters for $143, or watch women snowboarders show off their half-pipe skills for $59 (if you want to check out the men, only $151 seats are left).

The medals games for ice hockey are sold out, but the semifinals ($235) and quarterfinals ($168) are all still available—though you'll have no idea who will be playing, of course. If you like rooting for a specific team, you'll be happy to know that tickets to most prelim games are also still available—including (for $134.50 a game), all USA matches, right down to the February 21 showdown with legendary rival Russia.
