Cottages in a pine grove inside the walls of Erice, Sicily

Erice is no longer large enough even to fill in the entirety of its medieval town walls.

Tucked into one corner of the old walls is what is now mostly parkland and trees, and in the middle of a five-acre pine grove is La Pineta, a series of 23 private cottages with patios, some with clifftop vistas.
