Editorial: 

  • Assigned, edited, researched, and wrote feature articles for the magazine
  • Answered reader questions as the ombudsman of “Ask BT”
  • Edited the section devoted to travel news, reviews, and gear.
  • Wrote two daily features for MSNBC.com.

Managerial: 

  • Interviewed, hired, and supervised interns.
  • Managed MSNBC.com’s travel section, assigning articles to staff, editing content, and maintaining message boards.
  • Marketed the brand on national TV and radio.

  • Edited the manuscripts of guidebooks to various destinations worldwide. 
  • Helped develop new guidebook series, including the Complete Idiot’s Travel Guides and Travel + Leisure guides. 
  • Collaborated with the digital publishing department on multimedia and Internet projects.

Insinger Machine Company (1992–1996)
  • Conducted writing seminars and individual coaching for office staff to help improve their copy and avoid corporatese in everything from external communications to product user manuals. 
  • Helped generate and edit quarterly and annual reports and newsletters. 
  • Edited all of the company president’s internal and external correspondence.

  • Created and determined the geomap for the site’s destination guides and the editorial placement of articles, past and future.
Conde Nast’s Concierge.com (2005–2007)
  • Created more than 20 online guides to destinations around the world, from Bangkok to Belize, the Loire to Ljubljana, Madeira to Marrakech.
Arthur Frommer’s Smart Shopping (2004–2006)
  • Helped plan the magazine’s editorial calendar.
  • Wrote two to five articles per issue.
