South Dakota practicalities
Practical info on South Dakota, including how to get there and get around
Apologies to the rest of this fine state, but the best bit of South Dakota is its southwest corner. That where they keep Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, Deadwood, the Black Hills, Custer State Park, and all most of the other great sights and natural wonders.
That means the best gateway to fly into is Rapid City, (www.visitrapidcity.com) which isn't exactly a major international airport, but to which you can get connecting flights from just about anywhere.
