This 52-room hotel prefectly sited between the bustle of the West End and the museums of the University District is another delightful entry in the small Firmdale empire of chic-yet-comfy hotels owned by designer Kit Kemp and her husband Tim.

It's boutique-meets-traditional, with a proper afternoon tea surrounded by funky modern murals, and elegantly furnished bedrooms done in bold prints and colors.

The hotel even has its own 75-seat cinema, and offers £40 packages for dinner and a movie—artsy first run hits and perennial favorites—on Friday and Sunday nights (plus lunch and a movie Sunday afternoons).
