In the refined, clubby, Old World—very old, dating back to 1828—atmosphere of Simpsons-in-the-Strand, waiters wheel silver-domed carts over to carve you thick slabs of their famous roast saddle of lamb with mint sauce nad roasted potatoes, or sirloin of Scottish beef, aged 28 days and served with a giant puff of a Yorkshire pudding.
Whether it's beef Wellington, potted shrimps, smoked Scottish salmon, or some other quintessentially British dish, there is no more classic place to indulge thatn Simpsons-in-the Strand.
The dress code is "smart casual." Jacket and tie are not required for gentlemen, but preferred. Their own rules: "We kindly ask that our patrons refrain from wearing sportswear including trainers, open toed footwear, shorts, or ripped jeans."
