Damien Hirst
The king of the 90s shock artists
Damien Hirst (born 1965) is that guy who pickles cows, sheep, sharks, etc. I mean, he does other things, but that's what he's famous for.
This founding member of the 1990s YBAs (Young British Artists) is largely famous only because his art is (a) shocking, and (b) shockingly bad.
Though some permanent collections in Britain (notably the Tate) have acquired Hirst's, er, art, it is rarely on regular display; it's usually only trotted out during exhibitions.
