The only artistic movement or era the Brits can claim a major stake in is contemporary art, many bursting onto the international gallery scene just before and after World War II and working in a variety of styles.
Most British cities has a major modern art gallery—in London it's the Tate Modern, Birmingham has its Museum and Art Gallery, and Liverpool houses the Walker Art Gallery.
