Tours and advice for women traveling in Great Britain
OK, first things first: I'm a guy. So what do I know from telling women how to travel?
I did canvas my female friends and colleagues to compose some general tips and information for women traveling alone.
But when it comes to specifics and tours, I think I'll leave that to the real experts in the Links section.

- Gutsywomentravel.com - A women's tour company, with tours to England, Scotland, and Wales.
- Serendipitytraveler.com - Bills itself as travel for "the spirited woman;" small groups going to beautiful places, including an annual trip to English gardens pegged to the Chelsea Flower Show.
- Adventuresingoodcompany.com - Small groups tours for adventurous types, including hiking trips in Wales, the Scottish Highlands, and Northern Ireland.
- Women-traveling.com - Specializes in solo and sinlge women's travel in small escorted groups.
- Sightsandsoul.com - Small group tours for women, including trips to London and England and Edinburgh and Scotland.
Women's travel resources
- Gutsytraveler.com - Run by women's travel expert—and TravelGirl magazine's adventure editor—Marybeth Bond. The focus here is split between recommending women (and family) tours and adventure travel (so for adventurous women, this should be your first stop).
- Journeywoman.com - Online travel resources for women.
- Boldlygosolo.com - About single travel in general, but is maintained by a woman (Ellen Perlman) so it's full of good advice for solo women on the road.

Requirements: Must be female and over 18.

- Nomadicmatt.com - This popular travel blog has had many guest posts by solo female travelers giving out great tips.
